Random Tip #11: Conventional Legs>>

October 2, 2018

I use a lot of different materials that aren't originally meant for fly tying when at the vise. I was turned on to using rubber legs meant for spinner baits when I was browsing a local tackle shop in my home town for some fluorocarbon bass tippet. For the most part these rubber leg bundles are much less expensive than traditional fly tying rubber legs, some places even sell them un-packaged where they may cost as little as a dollar a piece. Other stores even sell huge rolls of round rubber legs that would literally last a lifetime. Using these legs is very cheap, just as effective, and offers an extensive array of color options.
