ORVIS WET WADING SOCKS: THIRTY DOLLARS
PATAGONIA WET WADING SOCKS: FORTY FIVE DOLLARS
Thirty plus dollars for neoprene stockings that fold over wading boots for wet wading. They keep rocks out well, and fill the gaps in boots designed for the thick stockings on traditional waders. I wet wade a lot, especially on small creeks, when I'll be spending more time out of the water than in it, but thirty dollars isn't worth it.
Instead I found an old pair of leaky waders, that aren't worth a thing, and I re-purposed them. It was simple, I just cut off the neoprene stocking feet, and wore them like any other pair of socks. I saved thirty bucks, and recycled a useless bit of junk. Its that easy.
